Kratom is the informal term used to describe a species of plant known as Mitragyna Speciosa. This plant grows naturally throughout southeast Asia in places like Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia. Since at least the early 1800s, the Kratom plant has been used as an overall well-being enhancer by those looking to improve their lives naturally. Historically, leaves of the Kratom tree were chewed whole after being pulled directly from the tree itself.
Modern Kratom use involves consuming the same leaf but in a dried and pulverized powder form that is commonly taken in capsule form or mixed into beverages or smoothies.
